A playful contemporary form interpreted through the timeless language of traditional Bidri craftsmanship.
The Bidri Hot Air Balloon Paperweight transforms an everyday desk accessory into a distinctive piece of handcrafted decorative art.
Inspired by the graceful silhouette of a hot-air balloon, the piece features a rounded, vertically sculpted body rising from a compact decorative base. Fine metallic lines follow the contours of the balloon, creating an elegant contrast against the characteristic deep black Bidri finish, while the patterned base introduces another layer of traditional detailing.
Its unusual form gives this piece a contemporary personality while retaining the refined character associated with Indian metal craftsmanship. Compact enough for a desk yet visually distinctive enough to stand on its own, it works beautifully as both a functional paperweight and miniature decorative sculpture.
Place it on an office desk, study table, bookshelf or executive workspace, or include it within a collection of handcrafted Indian objects. Its combination of utility and artistic character also makes it an excellent choice for corporate, professional and special-occasion gifting.
For collectors, the piece demonstrates the versatility of Bidri craftsmanship—taking a centuries-old decorative tradition beyond conventional vessels and ornaments into an imaginative modern form.
Ideal for: office desks, home studies, executive workspaces, bookshelves, artisan collections, corporate gifts, professional gifts and distinctive Indian gifting.
